Due to an optimal location for diving, the most popular activities in Koh Tao are definitely diving and snorkeling, which leaves the beaches of the island quite quiet during the day time. This, again, gives the sun-bathers a great possibility to start their day with obvious and relax on a quiet, empty beach. Moreover, if sun-bathing isn't your thing or if it has gotten a bit boring, there is a variety of activies in hand: waterskiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, banana boat riding and even sailing lessons. On land, again, you can go trekking, mountain biking or free climbing as well. There are also island -style bowling, shooting range, petanque and mini golf available on the island.
In addition, if you want to stay in good fit, there are some gyms for workout or thaiboxing training to improve you boxing skills. Moreover, if you are concerned about your inner strength and are seeking to find a harmony between mind and body, there are also Tai Chi, Chi Gong, Yoga, Reiki, and Foot Reflexology available.
On the other hand, if you are more into sailing or travelling, you can always charter a real sailing yacht for a customized day tour or rent a longtail boat to go snorkelling in one of the many bays around the island and getting a first glimpse of the spectacular underwater world or visit the neighbouring little island Nangyuan, with its unique triple beach.
After an active day you might also feel a bit hungry but always remember that instead of going to a restaurant and ordering food, you could attend to a thai-cooking class, prepare the food yourself and learn more about thai-kitchen!
You see, the small turtle has a lot to offer after all.
